'proof' of azalina's alleged lesbianism emerges

A Puteri Umno member has lodged a police report alleging that the Puteri Umno chief Azalina Othman Said who won the two-year-old wing's inaugural election uncontested today is a lesbian.

According to a police report lodged on Wednesday, an audiocassette containing conversations regarding Puteri Umno chief Azalina Othman Said's alleged homosexuality is now in the hands of a top Umno leader, reported malaysiakini.com.

The report was lodged by another Puteri Umno member who said that she wanted to expose the 'immoral' behaviour of the leader.

The tape is said to contain conversations were between Azalina's 'lover' believed to be the wife of a prominent businessman and several other Puteri Umno members.

She added that several Puteri Umno exco members were called by Azalina's 'lover' to discuss ways to break the relationship between Azalina (left) and another former exco member, Erma Fatima.

She also told malaysiakini.com that on the tape Azalina admitted to a Puteri Umno member that she is a lesbian while seeking for help during the crisis with her 'girlfriend.'"
In the report, the member who declined to be named also urged the police to question Azalina's maid as she had allegedly said that the Puteri Umno chief and her 'lover' were behaving like "husband and wife" at home.

Last Friday, Mahathir, who is also Umno president, said the party would not tolerate leaders who are guilty of sexual misconduct.

Allegations concerning Azalina's sexuality first surfaced in April in the Malay tabloid Perdana Sari. The paper also claimed that the Puteri Umno chief had used party funds to purchase a luxury car for her 'lover.'

Azalina who is the pro-tem head won the two-year-old wing's inaugural election uncontested today since her potential rivals failed to secure any nominations from the wing's 165 branches nationwide.

It waits to seen what the usually outspoken Azalina, who has been maintaining her silence for more than a month, will say when the gag order to prevent excessive campaigning during the election is lifted today.
