Young Singaporeans have passed their own comments on recent events affecting the LGBT community in the city in the form of a youtube video.
The group, known as SPAM Media, formed in July and have recently put together a short video documentary aimed at displaying and exploring some of the issues faced by LGBTs in Singapore.
The group describes the project thus:
From the Wear White Campaign to the National Library Board Controversy to the We Are Against Pink Dot Facebook Page, opposition against a Pro-LGBT - or even neutral - stance is steadily growing. While it is a basic human right of each individual to be entitled to his or her own opinions, is it humane to express such opinions in a flagrantly hostile manner?
Jamie Lim explores the LGBT scene in Singapore to understand the impact certain laws have on homosexuals in Singapore, the challenges homosexuals face specific to Singapore and how certain antagonistic groups provoke homosexuals in Singapore."
