New travel app Gayze launched earlier this month as a platform to provide information to gay tourists about the countries they are travelling to, according to ScandAsia.com.
Created in Singapore by two Swedish nationals—Elin Wibell and Stelios Vasilantonakis—the app premiered at Stockholm's Europride festival on August 3 and is next expected to be introduced to the Asian market. In the region, it is currently only available in Singapore.
In an interview with Inside Scandinavian Business, Wibell said they made Gayze out of a desire "to ensure that people are not in danger and should not fear to travel in certain places."
It offers "up-to-date advice" about important issues to consider when travelling as a gay man, and also functions as a social networking tool.
Gayze currently focuses on gay men, but its founders hope to expand it so that it is relevant and helpful to other genders.
