John Tucker Must Die stars the ridiculously cute Jesse Metcalfe, who first warmed our loins as the perpetually shirtless lawnmower bedding Eva Longoria in Desperate Housewives. Indeed, he was the biggest reason why gay men tuned in to the catty soap opera week after week.

Now he has his first major starring role as John Tucker, a popular jock who is secretly dating three of his school's prettiest girls (Sophia Bush, Ashanti and Arielle Kebel) at the same time. When the girls find out, they engage the help of smarty-pants Brittany Snow to bring down John Tucker. All manner of hilarity ensues, plus one unforgettable sequence where John strips down to a pair of thongs. It is a sight that will be burnished in the minds of gay men forever.

For most of the time, this film is funny and fun. The verbal jokes work, as do the slapstick gags. The young actors clearly give their all to their cookie-cutter roles, and their efforts pay off. If you can lower your expectations and forgive the film's cop-out ending, you will definitely have a good time.
