europe's largest gay dance club comes to s'pore

Seek Salvation on Sunday Mar. 23 at Zouk as Europe's largest gay dance club comes to S'pore for the first time for a one night only party!

London party promoters, Salvation, known to produce wildly popular gay and mixed dance parties from major cities in the UK to San Francisco, Athens and Sydney has announced plans to organise an Asian tour, with a launch party in Singapore on Mar. 23, followed by Bangkok, Hong Kong and Taipei.

Recognised today for producing the leading gay and mixed dance parties in all the cities where they host their events, Salvation was started five years ago by Alex Erfan who jumped into gear to put an event for 180,000 people when London's gay and lesbian community was thrown into a panic by the sudden cancellation of the London Pride festival in 1998.

Since then, together with business partner Steve Elliott, Salvation has grown into one of Europe's most respected and popular clubs with monthly Salvation events in Paris, Amsterdam and Athens, with other regular parties in Rome, Lisbon, Bulgaria, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney, Brazil and South Africa.

With its signature funky, tribal sound, The Caf de Paris and the acclaimed Salvation After-Party - the two clubs operated by Salvation have become must for clubbers in or visiting London.

Salvation has also started an independent DJ agency, Spin DJs, to deal with the high demand and Salvation Records, a record label to spread the signature music that has become the Salvation Sound.

London-based DJ Gonzolo and Luigi Rossi will be at the decks offering the house enlightenment. Gonzolo who began his career more than 10 years ago in his Spanish hometown of Seville moved to London in 1997. While playing at a small club, he was later discovered was offered a job at Trade, one of the city's most influential gay clubs, before joining the elite Salvation team.

The party will also feature Michael Bihary, an openly gay Amsterdam-based singer and Gregory Bach, an Australian-born international choreographer and dancer who has worked with superstars including Kylie Minogue and Madonna.
