Three years after they put out their last artist album, Pet Shop Boys are planning to release their new CD Fundamental in April. Check out a snippet from "Psychological," a brand-new song that will be included on the record. For now, the song is only available on white label vinyl in a limited release to prep the club crowd for the duo's new sound. The group has also revealed the tracklisting for Fundamental. Song titles include "The Sodom and Gomorrah Show," "Luna Park," "I Made My Excuses & Left" and "Minimal." In related PSB news, Neil Tennant and Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears performed Gloria Gaynor's "I Am What I Am" at Elton John & David Furnish' "stag" night party in London on Monday.

Head over to music download store 7Digital to download Kylie Minogue's new live EP "Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour." The Australian pop kitten describes her recent cabaret-style concert tour as a trip down "memory lane" with both older and newer hits that she dedicates to her fans. "Showgirl is not only a celebration of pop songs and my career, but of a long time relationship with my audience," Minogue says on her web site. "This is my way to say thank you and to share some of the most important moments of my journey so far." The singer had to halt the tour after she was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
Recorded at London's Earls Court Arena, the EP includes great reworked, live versions of "Slow," "Spinning Around" and "Better The Devil You Know. I absolutely recommend her version of "Red Blooded Woman" that includes parts of "Where The Wild Roses Grow," Kylie's duet with Nick Cave. UInfortunately, all-time gay fave "Over The Rainbow" is missing from the EP.

Rosanne Cash is the daughter of the legendary Johnny Cash and his first wife Vivian Liberto Cash Destin. Cash has been making music since the late seventies when she built a solid career as a country singer with more than twenty top 40 country singles. After a polyp shutdown her vocal chords in the nineties, Cash came back strong in 2003 with the critically acclaimed "Rules Of Travel."
Capital Records will release Cash' new album Black Cadillac on January 24. I listened to an advance copy earlier this week. On the record, the singer shares some of her very personal grieving after the passing of her father, her mother and her stepmother June Carter Cash between spring 2003 and spring 2005. The album's rootsy, rock-infused country songs are an attempt to come to grips with her loss. In the album liner notes, she confides that her "loss was a door to appreciation." The title song refers to the black Cadillacs her father used to drive. She poignantly sings, "You were always rolling/But those wheels burnt up your life."
What I appreciate most about Rosanne Cash' music is that it is so heartfelt and so real that you can feel it. In a music scene where mediocrity rules, Rosanne Cash maintains her authenticity to convey emotions that we can all relate to. The intensely personal "Black Cadillac" will easily rank as one of the best releases of 2006.
Listen to her new tracks "I Was Watching You" and "House On The Lake" that both describe memories of her youth and her father. The house on the lake refers to the Cash home in Hendersonville, TN.

After their smash hit "Push The Button," the Sugababes entered the British pop chart yesterday at number three with their new single "Ugly." It is a catchy, middle of the road pop song that Stylus Magazine appropriately labeled as "self-help pop" with empowering lyrics like: "People are all the same/And we only get judged by what we do/Personality reflects name/And if I'm ugly then/So are you."
The song's meaning is very similar to TLC's "Unpretty" and that should come as no surprise since the song was written by Atlanta-based producer Dallas Austin who is responsible for most of TLC's hits. According to the Guardian newspaper, Austin wrote "Ugly" in response to some unflattering comments in the UK press about the Sugababes. "All the rubbish and nasty stuff that's been written about us, calling us the Sugalumps, that sort of thing," says singer Keisha Buchanan in an interview with the paper about Austin's inspiration.
