Down and Dirty with Mickey Avalon

Listen to emerging new talent Mickey Avalon's XXX-rated track "Jane Fonda" from his debut album, the first artist release from MySpace records.

Mickey Avalon is an emerging new talent who combines the worst of Pete Doherty and the best of Beck. No wonder LA Weekly fittingly described the formed street hustler "as a troubled addict and an unquestionable skank" who is a "shockingly gifted rap humorist." The androgynous singer is now changing his life with music that is all about bringing old-school rock 'n roll swagger and country grammar to the hip hop stage. His exhilarating stage performances have been hugely popular among hipsters in Los Angeles who are mesmerized by Avalon's crazy fun antics that invoke memories of '60 and '70s glam rockers.

Avalon is currently featured on the cover of BPM Magazine. In an interview with the publication, he explains how he started to make music a few years ago with gay porn star turned MTV VJ Simon Rex (who raps too). The demos tapes and live performances finally led to a deal with Interscope who is currently prepping him for the big time.

Listen to Avalon's XXX-rated track "Jane Fonda"on his MySpace page that will get the parents of America concerned. It is raunchy, yet so much fun. What I appreciate about Mickey Avalon's music is that it is raw and real without any pretense. He fully embraces the spirit of rock 'n roll in a refreshing new way. (Thanks to David in Miami for the heads up.)
