Jonny Lee Miller is one actor who's always flying under the radar. But on our gaydars, we're picking him up well and clear. After all, we've been drawn to his boyish good looks since he burst onto the big screen opposite Angelina Jolie in Hackers (1995). (The two were briefly married after the film.) And while age may have taken a toll on that beautiful Bambi face of his, his acting skills have only gotten better.

In The Flying Scotsman, he plays a true-life Scottish cycling phenomenon Graeme Obree, who appeared in the amateur cycling scene in the 1990s and shocked everyone by breaking world speed records on his homemade bike. The movie traces his life from his poverty-stricken childhood to his struggling adult years, to his spectacular victory.

Despite the efforts of director Douglas Mackinnon to inject some originality into the proceedings, The Flying Scotsman still comes across as a somewhat dull and straightforward sport movie. The story of an underdog defying the odds and becoming a champ has been told much too often. When the victory song comes on for Graeme Obree, you can try your best to stay interested.
