Craving for a good fantasy film since the last Harry Potter instalment? The mythical, magical fairytale Stardust should satisfy your hunger.
Based on a graphic novel by Neil Gaiman (rumoured to be gay), it stars newcomer Charlie Cox as a village boy who ventures in a magical kingdom of witches and pirates just to prove his love for a girl (Sienna Miller). He comes across a beautiful incarnation of a star (Claire Danes) that has fallen from the sky and wants to bring her back to impress the girl he loves.
But first he has to battle a centuries-old witch (Michelle Pfeiffer) and her sisters who are bent on getting the star so that they can attain eternal youth, as well as the wickedly ambitious sons of a dying king (Peter O'Toole) who want to get back the gem that is in the star's possession.
As paths cross and wills are matched, Stardust offers more than a sprinkling of enchantment with its lively adventure sequences, breathtaking CGI sets and mesmerizing story. We can't think of a more charming way to spend an afternoon than under the spell of Stardust. Don't miss it.
