If you've seen E.T., you've seen The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep. And if you loved E.T., chances are you'll love this too.
Set in Scotland during WWII, Alex Etel plays a young boy who finds a strange large egg on the beach. He brings it home and the egg hatches, bringing forth a creature that looks well, very much like a swimming E.T.
Alex, his older sister (Priyanka Xi) and their handyman (Ben Chaplin) try to hide it from the rest of the world. But the water horse grows very big very quickly and the three have to release it into the sea, where it is today known as the Lochness Monster.
Blending comedy, suspense, drama, fantasy and top-rate special effects, The Water Horse is a very enjoyable G-rated picture. It is perfect family fare, so you can bring your nieces and nephews and heck! even their parents. This story of a boy's friendship with a monster may not be original at all, but it is very well-executed and very enjoyable.
