Prom Night

Director: Nelson McCormick

Starring: Brittany Snow, Scott Porter, Jessica Stroup

Release: 2008-07-22

We have not seen the original 1980 horror film starring Jamie Lee Curtis, but we were told that it was bad.

Well, it can't be any worse than this!

Brittany Snow plays a high school girl who is excited about attending the prom with her cute boyfriend (Scott Porter) and best friends. Three years ago, her family was killed by her own school-teacher (Johnathon Schaech) who was obsessed with her. Now he has escaped from his cell and is looking for her at her prom...

Despite doing surprisingly well at the American box-office, Prom Night is spectacularly corny and predicable. There isn't a single original plot twist or scare in the film, and the director's insistence of having scares pop out of closet filled with steel hangers really start to annoy you after the first one.

Without a doubt, Nelson McCormick's film is one of the laziest, most unimaginative films of the summer.
