Free Download: Bikini 'Tonight'

Canada's electro outfit Bikini knows how to dress it up for summer.

Check out their brand-new single "Tonight," a breezy electro tune that follows their cover of Feist "1,2,3,4." That song led to critical-acclaim among bloggers, which compelled American Apparel to program the song on Viva Radio, its in-house radio station.

This new track is taken from the group's brand-new album "Concerning The Number 7 And Your Love" that the duo released last night.  "We got so much love from your last post that we wanted you to be one of the first to have our new single," Bikini's Johnny writes me. "We've just released 6 new songs on 'Concerning
The Number 7 And Your Love' that have been anthems in our scenes in
Montreal and Toronto for a while now. We figured it's about time for
everybody to join in the fun!"

In an interview with SydneySounder, Bikini's Aaron and Johnny talk a bit more about their collaborative songwriting process. "I'll usually hash out a good enough sketch for the written song, legible enough so that when I send it to Johnny in Montreal, he can see where I was going," Aaron explains. "He'll add melodies and all the depth and production to make it what it is."

People have compared Bikini to the sounds of Daft Punk, Hot Chip and Ratatat. Johnny comments, "I think people make too many comparisons these days. We just do what we do." And that's all that matters. (Click here to download Bikini debut EP. Name your own price.)
