Winner of several awards including the Audience Award at Sundance, The Cove is a solid documentary that takes us into the hidden world of dolphin hunting.
Director Louie Psihoyos, former dolphin trainer Ric O'Barry and a team of divers travel to the coastal Japanese town of Taiji where the fishermen trap thousands of dolphins in a cove, and then decide if they’re fit to live or die. The ones that are healthy and pretty get sold to marine parks, while the rest are violently killed for their meat.
Combining docu techniques with the pace and suspense of a Hollywood thriller, The Cove manages to overcome the long-drawn monotony of its numerous expert interviews. And when the brutal truth is shown about what really happens to these captured dolphins, you’ll be wincing in horror and hopelessness.
After The Cove, you’ll never make the mistake of thinking that dolphins in marine parks were oh-so-cute and happy. A must-watch for docu and animal lovers.

What?!! Aren't we supposed to boycott oceanariums and marine parks (and zoos and other artificial habitats) that feature wild life in captivity and the cute dolphins and sea lions jumping through hoops after watching this show?
