Skillfully blurring the lines between hipster electronica and savvy, accessible pop, Human Life pops unto the scene emerging from Los Angeles' rich breeding ground of hot new electro-pop. The L.A. trio is the teaming of veteran house music producer Joshua Collins, Matt Wasley and Rachael Starr who are currently preparing the release of their debut EP on Alan Braxe's Vulture label in the next few months.
Joshua and Matt met at a birthday party of a common friend and bonded over their shared love of dance and pop music. They decided to spend some time in the studio to work on beats together Human Life was born when Matt shared some of the result of their sonic experimentations with Rachel who then asked to join the project.
Influenced by classic French and Chicago house and pop music as diverse as Genesis, Toto and Depeche Mode, Human Life's sound is an invigorating blend of contemporary electronic sounds and production techniques that a universal quality to it. “I would describe it as French Touch influenced Electro- Pop,” says Matt in a press release. “But some of the other labels people have used are dreamwave, nu-disco or indie-dance. Really it’s all about combining melodic music with dance oriented elements.” And there you have it.
