It's been about a year that I first ran into electro-pop duo Databoy (Cameron Maxwell and Adam Bailey) when we met at last year's South By Southwest at a Lights concert. Since March of last year, these two aspiring University of Texas alumns have graduated college and moved to New York to write and record music, and pursue a career in pop.
Maxwell and Bailey have been writing lots of new music and are working with others to tune their sound. In addition to writing all of their own material, the duo penned Kim Sozzi’s (3 Billboard Dance #1′s) next single with Josh Harris (Seal, The Killers, Dangerous Muse) and they are currently working with Cutfather (Kylie Minogue, The Wanted, Pussycat Dolls) and Enur (“Calabria”) on their own album material. Very promising.
The group released their party-startin' new single "Stupid" last month. Check out an exclusive revamp of that track that was produced by remixer extraordinaire Brad Walsh. Fun, sparkly take on the original. Make sure to also download the single edit on iTunes.
Databoy is performing at my SUPERFRAICHE pop concert at Galapagos in New York City on April that also features Sky Ferreira, Simon Curtis and She's The Queen.
