Twenty-one year-old Swedish DJ and producer Avicii (aka Tim Berg) has been stirring up a storm on dancefloors everywhere with his hyper-melodic and finely produced remixes and vocal productions. This soundboard wunderkind scored his first hit across Europe with "Bromance" last year and he has produced revamps for artists like Robyn, Dizzee Rascal, Daft Punk, Tiesto and David Guetta.

Now, Avicii is attempting to break further into the mainstream with the release of "Fade Into Darkness," a propulsive remake of his instrumental "Penguins" with lyrics written by John Martin who also wrote Swedish House Mafia's "Save The World." His label Ministry of Sound makes no mention of who the actual vocalist is on the track, but it sure is a fine fit for Aviici's pop-savvy and emotive production. Inspired by artists like Swedish House Mafia and Eric Prydz, Berg explains in an interview why he thinks Sweden is such a fertile breeding ground for emerging melody makers. "Sweden is a really cold place for 8 months out of the year," he says. "So you don't really have anything to do, so it's easy to put all of your effort into making music.

"But I also think it’s because there’s been so many successful producers in general from Sweden, like Swedish House Mafia or even pop producers, like Max Martin, there's just so many. So I think they inspire all the new ones to feel like 'Ah, I can make it as well in this industry!,'" he smiles.
