Leave it up to producer Kat Krazy to turn every pop ditty into a soaring dancefloor stomper that still packs plenty of pop that made it such a jam in the first place. Following remixes for artists like Robyn, Far East Movement, Labrinth, Wiley and Imagine Dragons, he now takes on Little Mix's forthcoming new single "DNA" that is released in the U.K. early next month. For pop aficinados overseas Little Mix doesn't need much of an introduction, but to uninitiated, it suffices to say that the girl pop outfit was the first group to ever win the U.K. franchise of The X Factor in 2011.
Since their big win late last year, the massively popular group of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have gone through a whirlwind of writing, recording and performing while getting used to life in the public spotlight. The quartet is set to release their highly-anticipated debut album "DNA" on November 19. The record includes production work by an impressive slew of hitmakers, including TMS, Wayne Hector, Diplo and Nicola Roberts.
"DNA" is the third single to be released of the record that follows their girl power anthem "Wings" that hit number one on the British singles chart late summer. In a recent interview, the group explains what people should expect from "DNA." "[The album] has a lot of different influences. It really mixes up all of our different influences and styles that we like," they explains. On his new remix, Katy Krazy adds some spit and polish to the song's original production with banging synth riffs and a thrusting new rhythm track that turns the ladies of Little Mix into bonafide dancefloor divas.
