" Captain Funk (aka Tatsuya Toe) is an Japanese electronic musician and DJ whose work ranges from very artsy, experimental pieces to slick synth pop.

Toe started his musical career after graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1998. He has been making music and playing big Japanese dance parties ever since. From Yokohama to Osaka, and from Kyoto to Sendai.

French electro outfit Digikid 84 decided to retool Captain Funk's new single "Hey Boy, Hey Girl" and turned the song into a glistening, '80s throwback synth pop tune. You can listen to Captain Funk's original here, which is totally fresh as well. It's somewhat reminiscent of Cooler Kids. Remember them?
