Women who Love Women: Conversatons in Singapore

Director: Ngiam Su-Lin

Starring: Amanda Lee, Sabrina Renee Chong, Gea Swee Jean

Release: 2007-08-14

Few documentaries are made in Singapore, and even fewer are made about lesbians in Singapore. Directed by 33-year-old graduate student Ngiam Su-Lin, Women who Love Women: Conversations in Singapore, aims to buck that trend by featuring three Singaporean lesbian women in honest conversations about their lives, their loves, and their hopes and aspirations.

The 65-minute documentary features three women 39-year-old Sabrina Renee Chong, 23-year-old Amanda Lee, and 24-year-old Gea Swee Jean. It is pretty much a talking-heads documentary, but for anyone who is interested in taking a closer look into the lesbian community in Singapore, this is an enlightening watch.
