With a great sexy title, stunning Kevin Zegers (Transamerica) in the lead and Elton John as a producer, you would expect a more fun and outrageous gender-bender movie. But It's a Boy Girl Thing turns out to be another run-of-the-mill body-swapping comedy that we've seen time and time again.

Kevin plays the star of his school's football team and Samaire Armstrong plays a studious, uptight girl. On a school trip to the museum, a Mayan statue swaps their spirits and Kevin starts to live in Samaire's body and vice versa...

What is a potentially hilarious film (see Freaky Friday) turns out to be a complete dud because the humour of boy in girl's body and girl in boy's body is not milked for what its worth. Even Kevin's gorgeous jawline can't stop us from switching off.
