The campiest film of the week has got to be High School Musical 3, a silly candy-colored musical about a bunch of teenagers graduating from high school. But those of you who've seen the first and second film will see it anyway for one thing: Zac Friggin' Efron.
This hot, hot boy has been splashed on every magazine cover, from Cosmogirl to Teen Vogue to Details magazine. As the star of High School Musical, he plays the captain of the basketball team who also happens to love singing. As he is about to graduate from high school, he must choose between going to the U of A to play basketball or going to Juilliard on a music scholarship.
If the plot sounds juvenile, it's because it is. High School Musical is meant for tweens and young teens, so there is nothing here to please those of us above 18 except maybe those who dig Zac Efron or the equally cute Vanessa Hudgens. Young fans will love the script, the acting and pop/rock numbers of the High School Musical 3. Older audiences may feel rather detached even bored watching it.
